So far my grievance with that stick is the coolie hat, which does really not function in all directions, the diagonal settings are ignored (except front left), but that’s another issue. This article describes how to troubleshoot game controllers in Microsoft games. Playing on XBox series X, standard edition from gamepass, most recent firmware of the flightstick is 1.1.1, input profile XBox, control profile set to “sensitive”, trimming set to analog, touchpad sensivity to zero, colouring green. What the sim recognizes as button 7 (and 8) are the share and the options menu to the left and right of the jewel (the xbox button), but these also I can assign to actions which are then performed (in my case pause and external view). If you refer to the two buttons in the lower right corner (x and y when having set the flight stick to left handed usage), I can assign these buttons to an action and that action is performed when pressed. So which buttons do you refer to when you say button 7? However, the button you see described in the controller picture in MSFS does not match the numbering of the buttons pressed in the sim.įor example, what the pictures (and the label on the stick itself) describes as button 8 is recognized as button 21 in the control settings manager (7 is 20).įurthermore, two of the buttons (trim wheel up and down) only become active when the corresponding profile setting is selected (digital trim compared to analog trim). I wonder what the game version has to do with the functioning of a connected device. Have you had any of these issues? Thanks in advance! However if I unplug the Flightstick and try again it will launch and login fine, I can then plug in the Flightstick and it works although it’s a bit clunky as sometimes I have go back to the game pad controller to navigate through the sim menu’s etc. I get a message saying I’m either not online or my licence can’t be checked. I am also experiencing difficulties opening MSFS if the Flightstick is plugged in before launching the Sim. I’m guessing it’s faulty but I was hoping to see if it’s a common fault or a Sim bug. Buttons 1 to 6 do and everything else on the Flightstick seems to be working fine. I’ve also checked the mapping options etc and can assign 7 & 8 as recommended but nothing happens when you press either button, even in the Controller Setup menu, the Joystick Button 7&8 boxes don’t become highlighted when either are pressed. ![]() I’ve tried updating it to the latest firmware but the fault still persists. Just wondering if you’ve had any issues with Buttons 7 & 8 not working or being detected/recognised in MSFS? Hello there, I too have just purchased a Velocityone Flightstick to use with an XBox Series X.
